An edition identifies a year. A new edition brings a new picture to a category. Check the category and year if you already collect Black Boxes.

Landscapes, Architecture, Art, Cities, Fantasy, Nature, Animals and Retro. The Christmas Special 2026 is separately in preparation and has not yet been released.

The 1–5 scale rates the difficulty of the picture. Colours, repetition and orientation all matter. Ratings can differ between editions of the same category.

Level 06 — Impossible is a distinct tier. Similar colours, recurring structures and few landmarks create a sustained challenge.

The relevant 1,000-piece puzzles measure approx. 70 × 50 cm. This does not establish exact compatibility with a picture frame.

The recipient discovers the picture themselves. You can choose by interests and desired challenge. For collectors, check which categories and editions they already have.
